Portfolio
Final year thesis
“Natural light: Promoting wellness in adaptation and reuse,”
The final year thesis I have chosen has been carefully chosen in relation to my key interests within design, Lighting and wellness adaptation. The focus on the historical background, principles of wellness, lighting technologies and my case study, "the Killeagh mill, County Cork", will inevitably produce a well researched analysis of natural light.
Final year studio
project
The final year design studio project is based on the Killeagh mill, the renovation and revamp of this structure will combine innovation, community, knowledge and sustainability. The proposed design for the Killeagh mill is to encourage wellness through activity, the new greenway path being constructed from county to county, additionally the path passing through Killeagh Co. Cork to Waterford will become a adequate function towards this structure. A proposed design where you can immerse yourself in the environment, culture, history, music, and food. This led me towards the proposed use of health and wellness as the Killeagh mill is placed within a woodland path and while a strong community surrounds it bursting with traditional Irish roots.
